Doctors prescribed it because nothing else worked better. Patients paid up because they had no choice.

What they're missing: This isn't some speculative biotech burning cash on trials. They've got $56M in existing revenues, 50 sales reps already calling on dermatologists, and management that previously sold a company in this space for $2.5 billion.
