Every medical device that goes inside a human body has to pass a specific set of tests.
Catheters. Implants. Injectables. Surgical mesh. Wound care products.
The question regulators want answered is simple: can bacteria colonize this device and form biofilms?
The FDA requires testing. Health Canada requires testing. European regulators require testing.
It’s a regulatory checklist item, not a “nice to have.”
And the testing isn’t simple.
It takes custom methodologies, specialized equipment, accredited quality systems, and years of relationship-building between client and vendor. Once a client validates a method with a particular lab, switching means redoing the work and re-justifying it to the regulator.
In North America, only a handful of labs are qualified to do this work at the highest level.
One of them is a microcap that’s just doubled its revenue, was profitable in three of four quarters in 2025, sits on a net cash balance sheet, and started trading in the United States for the first time a few weeks ago.
Here’s what makes this interesting:
Required spend, not discretionary spend. Customers don’t have a choice. Antimicrobial and biofilm testing is a regulatory line item on the path to FDA clearance.
Real operating leverage. Adjusted EBITDAS grew 238% on 107% revenue growth in FY2025. The ratio matters more than the absolute numbers at this scale.
Net cash balance sheet. Net cash covers roughly 12% of the equity value, with no externally imposed financial covenants and a current ratio of 5.79.
Profitable in three of four quarters in 2025. Q4 closed the year with an Adjusted EBITDAS margin of 22%.
Active M&A pipeline. Management has flagged tuck-in, bolt-on, and potentially transformational acquisitions actively under evaluation for 2026.
Free optionality. A proprietary antimicrobial IP platform, a research-grade product line, and a recently enhanced refundable R&D tax credit. None of that is reflected in the current financials.
Listing catalyst. US capital can now access the stock without friction for the first time.
My rough scenario assumptions (not predictions, just how I’m framing the risk-reward):
Stagnation / deceleration (~30% probability): Organic revenue growth slows to single digits, M&A pipeline stalls, the operating leverage thesis fades. Stock drifts back toward C$0.13-0.15. Downside: ~25-35%.
Base case (~50% probability): 25-30% revenue growth in 2026, Adjusted EBITDAS margin expands to 13-15%, market re-rates to ~10-12x forward EBITDAS as US investors discover the listing. Upside: ~75-100%.
Bull case (~20% probability): Tuck-in M&A executes accretively, organic growth holds in the 40%+ range, EBITDAS margin reaches 18-20%, multiple expands toward US-listed CRO peers in the 12-18x range. Upside: ~3-5x.
Probability-weighted expected return: roughly 80-130% from current levels against limited downside given the cash floor and the operating earnings already on the table.
